Define the boundary
Select the opportunity and intended program or project. Confirm Funding Operations access and role permissions. Read current funder requirements before drafting. A reusable profile helps, but each application has its own conditions and audience.
Review gaps
Open Readiness and examine missing or incomplete items. Separate absent documents from those needing updates. Assign responsibility and practical due dates using available controls or your team’s task process. A similar document is not enough: check the required period, signature and scope.
Build the workspace
Use Applications to organize narrative, evidence and supporting material. Ensure names, dates, budget assumptions and outcome language agree across sections. Keep source references. Review every AI-assisted passage before including it in the submission version.
Complete human review
Have the authorized colleague review the complete application and budget. Resolve contradictions and confirm commitments. Approval covers the reviewed version. External submission depends on the supported workflow, delegated authority and funder instructions. A finished draft is not a submitted application.
Keep outcomes connected
Record submission and decision information. Carry award commitments into Awards and reporting. For unsuccessful applications, retain useful feedback and gaps for next time. Do not present a pending application amount as awarded or received.
